Terms
Last updated 17 October 2026. AppCut is run by a business registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK). Its name, KvK number and address are listed here before launch.
These terms apply to everyone with an AppCut account: brands and creators. Plain words on purpose.
1. What AppCut is
AppCut connects brands (companies with an app or software subscription) with creators (people who post content). A brand publishes an offer: the commission it pays for each paying user a creator brings in. A creator joins the offer, shares their own link or code, and earns that commission on the sales it brings.
AppCut is the intermediary. The promotion itself is agreed between the brand and the creator, on the terms of the offer the creator joined. AppCut does not buy creators’ services and does not resell them. We provide the platform, the tracking, the calculations and the payment instructions to Stripe.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 18 and able to enter into contracts.
- You use AppCut for your business or profession, also as a creator: promoting apps for commission is a business activity. Consumer protection rules for buyers therefore do not apply to these terms.
- Keep your details correct and your password to yourself. What happens in your account is your responsibility.
- One account per person or company. A brand account belongs to the brand; the owner decides who has access.
3. Tracking and who gets the credit
A new user belongs to the creator whose link or code they signed up through, if they used it within the offer’s attribution window (30 days unless the offer says otherwise). After that, links or codes of other creators don’t change it.
Sales are counted from the brand’s store or payment provider: signed data from the App Store, Google Play, RevenueCat, Stripe or the brand’s own server. Clicks we identify as automated (bots) are left out. Brands may not alter or hold back this data to avoid paying commission.
If you think a sale is missing or wrongly credited, email us within 60 days with the details. We check the signed data and the ledger and tell you what we found.
4. Commission, approval and refunds
- The commission rate in an offer is locked for a creator from the moment they join. A brand can change an offer for new creators only.
- Each commission is pending for the offer’s refund period (30 days on most offers), because the buyer can still get a refund. After that it is approved and owed.
- A refund in the pending period cancels that commission. A refund after it is offset against the same creator’s next earnings from that brand, never taken from their bank account.
- If an offer includes a monthly floor, the floor is paid on the terms shown in the offer, until the creator’s first sale.
5. Payments through Stripe
Money only moves through Stripe Payments Europe, a licensed payment institution. AppCut never receives or holds the money.
- Brands authorise a card or SEPA Direct Debit mandate with Stripe. When commission is due, Stripe charges it and pays the creator in the same payment. Stripe charges the brand once it owes you €50, or once your oldest unpaid earnings are 90 days old, and pays you in the same payment. Stripe sends your balance to your bank on the 1st of each month.
- Creators set up a Stripe account to be paid, and agree to the Stripe Connected Account Agreement. Stripe verifies who you are and holds your bank details.
- If a brand’s payment fails or is reversed, its offers pause for new creators straight away. What creators earned stays owed by the brand and is charged again once the brand adds a working payment method.
- A brand that disputes a correct charge with its bank breaches these terms.
6. Fees
- Creators pay nothing to AppCut. Creators receive the full commission the offer promises.
- Brands pay AppCut a platform fee on top of the commission. The fee is shown before an offer is published. During the pilot the fee is calculated and shown, but not charged; we tell brands at least 30 days before we start charging it.
- Fees exclude VAT. Dutch brands pay 21% Dutch VAT. Brands in another EU country give us their VAT number and account for the VAT themselves (reverse charge). Brands outside the EU pay no Dutch VAT.
7. Taxes and the information we must report
You are responsible for your own taxes, including income tax and, if you are registered for VAT, VAT on your commission.
EU law (DAC7) requires AppCut to report, once a year, what each creator in the EU earned through AppCut to the Dutch tax authority (Belastingdienst), which shares it with the creator’s own tax authority. For that we use your legal name, date of birth and address (from your Stripe account), your tax number, and your VAT and business registration number if you have them. We send you a copy of what we report by 31 January of the following year.
We pay out only once your tax details are complete. Until then your earnings stay owed to you.
8. Rules for creators
- Say clearly that a post is paid or that you earn commission, for example with “#ad” or the platform’s paid-partnership label, as Dutch and EU advertising rules (including the Reclamecode Social Media & Influencer Marketing) require.
- Be honest about the app. No claims you can’t back up, no fake reviews, nothing misleading about price or results.
- No spam, no buying traffic, and no paid search ads on the brand’s name unless the offer allows it.
- No sign-ups or purchases by yourself or people you pay to sign up, no fake accounts, no bots, and no rewards for installs unless the offer allows it.
- Follow the rules of the platforms you post on and the brief in the offer.
9. Rules for brands
- Offers must be accurate: what creators earn, for how long, and what the app does.
- Report sales honestly through the connection you set up, and keep that connection working while an offer runs.
- Keep a working payment method while you owe commission. Approved commission must be paid.
- Only promote lawful products, and only ask creators for content that is lawful and honest.
- Contact creators through AppCut for offers you run on AppCut, and pay them through AppCut for those offers.
10. Fraud, holds and reversals
If we have good reason to think commission was earned by breaking these terms (for example self-referrals, bots or fake accounts), we may hold it while we look into it, reverse it, and suspend the accounts involved. A brand that breaks these terms may have its offers paused.
We tell you what we did and why, by email or in the app. You can reply with your side and we review it in person, not automatically.
11. Your content and reporting a problem
You keep the rights to what you upload or write (profile, bio, offers, briefs). You let us show it on AppCut and use it to run the service, for as long as it is on AppCut.
Seen something illegal or against these terms on AppCut? Email support@appcut.pro with the link and what is wrong. We look at every report, act where needed, and tell the person affected what we did and why.
12. Leaving, suspension and ending
- You can stop using AppCut and ask us to close your account at any time.
- We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or when the law requires it. We tell you why, and, unless there is fraud or a legal reason not to, give you 30 days’ notice before closing an account for good.
- Commission a creator earned fairly before an account closes stays owed and is paid out as usual. A brand stays liable for commission on sales made before its offers ended, for the rest of each creator’s commission term.
13. Liability
- We work hard to keep tracking and payments right, but we can’t promise any number of sales, clicks or earnings.
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost profit. Our total liability towards a brand is limited to the fees it paid us in the 12 months before the claim; towards a creator to €500.
- These limits don’t apply to loss caused by our intent or gross negligence, or where the law does not allow them.
- We are not responsible for what brands and creators agree, post or promise to each other, or for Stripe’s services.
14. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. We tell you by email or in the app at least 15 days before a change takes effect, unless the law requires a faster change. If you don’t agree, you can close your account before the change applies.
15. Law and disputes
Dutch law applies. Please email us first: most things are solved that way. If not, disputes go to the competent court in the Netherlands.
